"Choosing Absalon"
This short documentary explores the anti-gay immigration policy of the United
States.  Over 40,000 same-sex, binational couples in America must choose
between country and love when visas expire.  Because of the 1996 "Defense
of Marriage Act," same-sex relationships are not legally recognized by our
federal government, even if those relationships are recognized by individual
states or nations.  So, unlike heterosexual citizens in America who may sponsor
foreign spouses for permanent residency, gay citizens - even when legally
married - must leave the country or leave their spouses.
